Dauphin Area Senior Transit (D.A.S.T.)

Dauphin Area Senior Transit, D.A.S.T., is a group of volunteer drivers who work in conjunction with the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging to provide transportation to the residents of Dauphin Borough and Middle Paxton Township only. This service is available to those 55 and older, who have no other means of transportation.

Transportation to doctor’s appointments, therapy, shopping, and other needs to support a daily lifestyle, is provided.  Rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance but can be done as soon as an appointment scheduled. Scheduling is done by calling the Township office at 717-921-8128. Priority is given for medical appointments. All riders must be physically able to board and disembark on their own; the van is not equipped with a chairlift. Rides to the West Shore will only be done for  medical appointments. Currently the van service is operating Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

There will be NO van service if Central Dauphin School District closes due to inclement weather.

D.A.S.T. is a fee-free service; however, donations are greatly appreciated! All operating costs for the van are the responsibility of D.A.S.T.  Rue Megonnell is the coordinator for this service and should be contacted at 717-921-2727 or 717-433-2192 to register as a rider, if you have any questions or if you are interested in being a driver. Once registered, scheduling is done by calling the Township office at 717-921-8128.
