The 2020 Census is a constitutional mandate to count everyone where they live in the United States every ten years. It will take place on April 1, 2020. The data collected by the census determines the number of seats each state has in the US House of Representatives. It is also used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities. For the 2020 census every household will have the option of responding online, by mail, or by phone. The census is hiring thousands of individuals from every community to assist in getting a complete and accurate count. These are temporary, full, and part-time jobs as census takers, going out in the community where they live to collect census data. Apply online at 2020census.gov/jobs or call 855-JOB-2020.
